The US House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce held a hearing on "Understanding Peak Oil Theory" (Dec 7th) 
ASPO International president Prof Kjell Aleklett, who recently launched ASPO Australia (see below), was among 6 witnesses invited to the committee. The other witnesses were Dr Robert Hirsch (SAIC and author of the Hirsch Report), Mr Robert Esser (Cambridge Energy Research Associates - CERA), Mr Murray Smith (Minister-Counsellor Govt. - Canadian Embassy) and members of the US House of Representatives the Hon. Roscoe Bartlett and the Hon. Tom Udall.
