Here's a direct link to the Queensland Parliamentary petition for the adoption of the "Oil Depletion Protocol" (current from the 31st October 2006, to the 30th March 2007):-

And here's a link to information that explains why this is absolutely essential for our survival, and our children's survival:-

And here's a "Letter to the Editor" about this that I sent to almost every local paper in Queensland, on Wednesday 1st November 2006 (113 words):-
"Kids the same age as mine are dying in Iraq, in a war "Not for oil," while China and the US compete for remaining World reserves. Crude's a finite resource, and we've reached the top of the curve. We're not "Running out," just getting less each day, instead of more. Planetary rules aren't negotiable. Our choices? A bloody battle of "Last man standing," or a civilised acceptance of the inevitable. That's what the international "Oil Depletion Protocol" is about, and there's a push for Queensland to add it's voice to this global call for sanity. You can find your way to the Parliamentary petition at www.relocalize.net/groups/queensland Do it for our children"
You'll also find a petition on the Queensland Parliamentary website calling for the labelling of fossil fuel energy sources:-

I administer this site. Here's me http://www.kimspages.org/ and here too http://www.theshiregreenweb.org And here's the latest (as of Wed 10 Jan 07), on what's happening re oil depletion & re-localisation in local parts of Queensland (& Northern New South Wales):-

And for anyone new to "Peak Oil," here's some basic info http://www.energybulletin.net/primer.php
This is an open & free forum for activists and groups around Queensland to post & share their news & views. And here's a page of Qld links that may be useful to local activists & groups http://www.kimspages.org/key_queensland_links.htm
To continue, here's a link to Andrew McNamara (ALP State Member for Hervey Bay), talking about the Queensland Government's ground breaking "Oil Vulnerability Task Force" (Aug 2005):- http://www.globalpublicmedia.com/interviews/466 The completion date of this crucial task force has been delayed numerous times, and is still not available. We'll keep you updated. So here's another link to Andrew McNamara talking more on these issues (April 2006):- http://www.globalpublicmedia.com/interviews/689 (Click on the "12 minute" interview towards the bottom of the page)
And on Tues Sept 12 2006, I'm speaking to my local council re Peak Oil. I've made a 5 page "Word" document on the issue, which I'll print beforehand & give out when I get there. There's lots of pics & white space (easy on the eye & brain) - plus quotes from high profile figures (Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, Senator Barnaby Joyce), which are impossible to ignore. Other key info is also digestibly presented. If you's like a copy, email me kim@kimspages.org
14th Sept 2006 - I publically asked Federal & State Gov what support there is now (and will eventuate), for local Peak Oil planning initiatives. I'll keep everyone updated on this important info. Here's the links:- http://www.kimspages.org/oil.htm#14SeptF & http://www.kimspages.org/oil.htm#14septS
Here's a link to ASPO-Australia (Australian Assoc for the Study of Peak Oil & Gas) http://www.aspo-australia.org.au/
And another to the July 10 2006, ABC 4 Corners programme, "Peak Oil?" http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2006/s1680717.htm
Continuing still, here's my questions to the editor of Queensland's "Courier Mail," re his/their apparent refusal to head line key info on oil depletion (no reply, though I won't hold my breath):- http://www.kimspages.org/couriermail.htm
And here's my further public questions to The Queensland Investment Corporation, re NOT investing MY super fund savings in planned "Brisbane North South Bypass Tunnel" http://www.kimspages.org/qsuperletter.htm
Again, NO answer - BUT they'll get a circulated & publically posted email/rerminder from me (re my questions), every calendar month ad infinitum (they've already had one at the time of writing). Looks like the above link might turn into one very LONG web page. A public testament to deliberate corporate blindness - and I've also submitted my correspondence to the Senate's "Inquiry Into Australia's Future Oil Supply and Alternative Transport Fuels," so here's a link to this inquiry:-
http://www.aph.gov.au/senate/committee/rrat_ctte/oil_supply/index.htm
& to my submissions http://www.aph.gov.au/senate/committee/rrat_ctte/oil_supply/submissions/sub175a.pdf
http://www.aph.gov.au/senate/committee/rrat_ctte/oil_supply/submissions/sub175.pdf
And here's the latest (as of Sunday 11 Sept 2006), on the progress & interim report of this committee:-
http://www.energybulletin.net/20271.html
Finally, here's my questions to Australian Federal Resources Minister Ian McFarlane (and his reply), re Peak Oil http://www.kimspages.org/ianmcfarlane.htm
So folks - this is your "Commons," use it wisely, well and constructively. Maybe together we can create a future for a kids - and as we all end up feeding the worms at some point, that's really all that matter . . .
